Other Ways to Donate
Donate as a Corporate Partner
Our corporate partnerships help make our work at Habitat possible, and we offer partnership opportunities for corporations wishing to donate overstock materials and participate in recurring donation programs. We have coordinated donations from nationwide restaurant chains, hotels, going out of business events and more.
Throughout our 40-year history, corporations have partnered with us to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter in partnership with families in the U.S. and around the world.
Gifts and in-kind donations of all sorts have helped us further our work and brought opportunity and resources to families in need of a decent place to call home. Contributions, large and small, continue to make a difference, and we believe there is something every company can give to allow us to help even more families build better futures.
What are in-kind donations?
When organizations donate goods or services, those donations are considered gifts-in-kind. Habitat accepts large quantities of in-kind gifts like building materials, furniture, appliances and more. Our corporate partnerships help make our work at Habitat possible.
One of our most valued gifts-in-kind are the materials used to build homes. Habitat for Humanity regularly ranks as one of the top 20 homebuilders in the United States and is the largest privately held homebuilder. For example, in each one of the homes we build in the U.S., we require approximately 150 pounds of nails and 400 two-by-fours. With the average Habitat house consisting of 1,200 square feet and three bedrooms, these numbers add up fast—so donations of building materials from corporate manufacturers are welcome!
Additionally, in some cases, retailers with overstock items donate those goods. Donations like these are usually sold in our Habitat ReStore home improvement stores, with the proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity.
We have become experts in creativity, and we enjoy working with corporations who want to donate building materials for home construction or overstock items for resale, so don’t hesitate to contact us about your desired donation.
